    Associated Protective Services

    About Us

    About Us

Steve Brophy created Associated Protective Services in 1988. Initially known as SRT Protection, Mr. Brophy offered basic protection and security services while employed as full-time law enforcement professional.

As SRT Protection’s services were called upon more frequently and for more sophisticated assignments, Brophy saw the need for the development of a comprehensive private protection service and security business that could serve clients of all means and status.

As a result, Associated Protective Services (APS) was created in 1996. It was also at this time that Mr. Derrick Levake was welcomed into Associated Protective Services as partner and founder of our Wisconsin offices and then in 2003 established our Virginia office as well. APS continues to enlarge and improve its services, programs and provide professional expertise in all areas of personal and group protection, security, education and training.

    Who We Serve:

Since 1988, Mr. Brophy and his well-trained professional staff have designed their services to meet the needs of private individuals, high-profile corporate professionals and celebrities, as well as small and large businesses around the country.

In addition, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and government protective services have also called upon Mr. Brophy’s company for additional expertise and assistance.

APS professionals were selected to provide Protection Services at the 1996, 2000 and 2002 Olympics for athletes and high profile business executives and celebrities. APS professionals also have served former US presidents and high-ranking government officials, visiting foreign dignitaries, and several major network news professionals.

    Our Professional Team:

Before becoming a member of the APS team, prospective agents must meet rigorous physical and psychological requirements, and embrace outstanding professional ethics and employee standards. All APS agents must possess significant training, education and experience in all phases of protective services work – whether through work in law enforcement, martial arts, private security and protection or other specialized skill areas.

In addition, all prospects must undergo highly scrutinized background checks and security clearances prior to a first personal interview. APS agents are selected for personal expertise in use of firearms, martial arts and self-defense and defensive/countermeasure driving and maneuvers.

APS’s goal is to provide the most professional, sophisticated and highly trained professionals for every client and every need. To accomplish this goal, Mr. Brophy is committed to promoting lifelong learning and skill development and enhancement for himself and all members of APS.
